Music Beat - June 2021
After a one-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions, Belleville’s popular Thursday-night Music Lakeside series is officially back, and will feature a diverse, award-winning, family-friendly lineup of crowd-pleasing area musicians. The series resumes Thurs, June 24 with the funkalicious sounds of the Bugs Beddow band, and the unveiling of the brand new Belleville Bass statues presented by the Belleville Area Council for the Arts (BACA), which will also serve as the warm-up event for the first ever Belleville Lake Fest June 25-27 and the summer music season.
“We’re so thrilled that this was not another ‘lost season’, because 2021 will be a summer to remember in Belleville,” remarks Steve Jones, Vice-President BACA, “Music Lakeside is loaded with typically excellent performers and our first-ever Belleville Lake Fest will feature two stages of live music for two straight days, an off-the-hook Gong Show and plenty of live music at our downtown restaurants and pubs.”
Belleville’s June music offerings will be rounded out by Irish music on the outdoor stage at Egan’s, line dancing and country music at the world-famous Diamondback just off I-94 and the occasional blues at The Bayou and live entertainment every Sunday at Johnny’s on the Lake.
