Food & Dining Beat - June 2021

With Phase One of the brand new Davenport Brothers construction project nearing completion, and several dining and food establishments said to be lining up for coveted slots, downtown Belleville is poised to seriously expand its culinary offerings in 2021. Adding more flavor to the mix, Crafted Beanery is now serving delicious beverages and baked goods, the fully-remodeled Frosty Boy ice cream shop just reopened its doors (to the relief of area kids, sugar-hounds and fans of retro blue!), while local prepared meal delivery startup Firebird Foods is expanding its operations (and menu) with the addition of a new commercial kitchen (go check out Chef Julia’s special Lake Fest Bass recipe at firebirdfoods.com!).

Dining highlights for June include delicious BBQ specials at Johnny’s on the Lake the first Sunday of every month, authentic Cajun food week-in-week-out at The Bayou, a knock-your-socks-off Celtic menu at Egan’s Irish Pub and a delectable Food Truck armada at the inaugural Belleville Lake Fest June 25-27, which has received an official greenlight due to updated federal and State Covid guidelines.
