Gosling Season on Belleville Lake

Beneath the gazebo in Horizon Park, the baby geese of Belleville Lake are protected by their fierce parents.

Move over Easter Bunny - a new wave of cuteness is currently sweeping downtown Belleville and the shores of Belleville Lake - GOSLINGS! It’s May and the first Canadian Geese eggs of the season are all in the process of hatching. A favorite feeding spot for their wary parents and the baby geese is Horizon Park, in downtown Belleville, right next to Johnny’s on the Lake. Dozens of goslings can currently be viewed up on the Lake Shore, with more hatchlings joining the party every day. Just be careful and don’t get too close - you might get seriously pecked by a protective mommy or daddy goose.
